To mitigate top patient concerns to improve efficiency of MR exam experience

Toshiba America Medical Systems has developed patient-focused MR technology to mitigate top patient concerns to improve overall MR exam experience.

The comapny claims that the new technology helps make exams more comfortable for patients, patient compliance, exam efficiency and improve technologist productivity.

Toshiba is expected to demonstrate the patient-focused designs of its MR systems, such as the Toshiba Vantage Titan MR system, at Radiological Society of North America (RSNA).

Toshiba’s patient-focused MR design features include, Pianissimo technology, which reduces noise by up to 90 %.

Proprietary contrast-free MRA Techniques enable safer MRA imaging of patients with known renal compromise. Contrast-free techniques are safer for patients with renal conditions and require less set-up time, so the overall MR exam is completed faster, without compromising image quality.

Toshiba’s Atlas technology eliminates the need to reposition patients during exams, by integrating the coils into the table.

Vantage Titan’s ultra-short, open bore is designed to increase comfort and improve the imaging of all patients, especially those who are claustrophobic and/or bariatric.

Girish Hagan, vice president of marketing at Toshiba, said: “Toshiba is committed to listening to our customers and developing technologies to meet their unique needs. Our patient-centered MR systems are an example of this commitment with features that improve patient care and comfort while also increasing efficiency.”
