Diagnostic imaging systems distributor Toshiba America Medical Systems has launched a new CT system to image more patients.
The Aquilion ONE ViSION Edition with its 78 cm bore and fast rotation can accommodate bariatric and patients with high heart rates.
The system is equipped with a gantry rotation of 0.275 seconds and a 100 kw generator.
In addition, the system features the company’s third-generation iterative dose reconstruction software, AIDR 3D, designed to reduce radiation dose compared with conventional scanning.
Toshiba CT business unit senior director Satrajit Misra said Aquilion ONE ViSION Edition reduces risk and maximizes returns.
"It is capable of imaging the entire brain and heart in a single rotation with 500-micron accuracy, and can capture both anatomical and functional data," Misra added.
