Tangible Hydra-PEG is a unique polymer coating permanently bonded to custom contact lenses that minimizes deposits and lens fogging, and improves wettability, lens surface water retention, lubricity and patient comfort. As a result, eye care practices can benefit from fewer refits, higher patient satisfaction and more available staff time.

Because a variety of factors can affect the durability of the coating, including a patient’s tear film composition, use of incompatible cleaners, vigorous cleaning, tap water and dry storage, the company is adding two new products to its portfolio in 2019 – Tangible Clean and Tangible Boost.

Tangible Clean is a daily multi-purpose cleaning and disinfecting solution designed to protect the Tangible Hydra-PEG coating on custom contact lenses, while Tangible Boost is a monthly conditioning solution that restores the Tangible Hydra-PEG coating and its benefits.

All three products will be available for demonstrations at the company’s GSLS booth #324. Tangible Clean will be available in early 2019. Tangible Boost will be available later in the year, pending FDA clearance.

New data examining the use of Tangible Hydra-PEG coated scleral lenses compared to uncoated scleral lenses for dry eye sufferers will be shared on Saturday, January 26 from 9:00-10:00am PST in a presentation entitled “A Surface Treatment Solution for Scleral Lens Wearers with Dry Eye” by Chandra Mickels, OD, of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry at the GSLS symposium. The talk will take place in the General Session in the Main Conference Room. The data will compare coated and un-coated scleral lenses based on lens comfort, dry eye symptoms, ocular surface, comfortable lens wearing time and fogging.
