Surgin's disposable drug delivery device has been successfully designed by Syprosoft Engineering.
Surgin designs and manufactures surgical devices for arthroscopy, colon/rectal surgery, endoscopy, hand surgery and ophthalmology.
The design process comprised a fluid flow analysis, stress calculations, materials selection, ergonomics, rapid prototyping and pre-clinical bench-top testing.
Surgin president Armand Maaskamp said Syprosoft Engineering applied sound analytical and modeling techniques to this problem and achieved the results they were looking for.
"We look forward to deploying them again for future product development efforts," Maaskamp said.
