Sweden-based Mölnlycke Health Care has acquired Sundance Solutions, which provides solutions to treat pressure ulcers.

Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Sundance produces and markets patient therapeutic positioning products, heel protection, patient turning and pressure reduction products.

Mölnlycke Health Care CEO Richard Twomey said: "We are very enthusiastic about joining forces with Sundance Solutions, thereby taking a huge step forward to help patients, their families, and caregivers prevent pressure ulcers."

Sundance’s product portfolio ranges from original static air immersion pressure reduction systems to the highest level of pressure relief and positioning systems.

The firm manufactures Tortoise, a simple turning, positioning and offloading system that can be easily used by patients and caregivers.

Its fluidized media technology enables clinicians to provide advanced dressing solutions for their patient population.

The company generates around $25m revenue per annum.

Mölnlycke Health Care produces dressing solutions that can be used with Safetac. Its wound care range comprise of Mepitel and Mepilex for the treatment of a wide range of wounds.

The firm also produces single-use surgical products such as Biogel surgical gloves and ProcedurePak tray.
