St Elizabeth Healthcare has upgraded its Aquilion ONE CT system with Toshiba's dose reduction software, AIDR 3D.

AIDR 3D is an iterative dose reconstruction software designed to work in both the raw data and image data spaces.

AIDR 3D, used in head, chest, abdomen and pelvis, cardiac and neuro studies, reduces noise while attempting to maintain image quality.

St Elizabeth advanced imaging director and radiology vice chairman Jeff Dardinger said upgrading Aquilion ONE with AIDR 3D has taken patient care to the next level by lowering radiation dose across all exams, while maintaining diagnostic confidence, image quality and workflow.

"AIDR 3D enables us to deliver quality care without sacrificing patient safety," Dardinger added.
