To support increasing pressures on audiology services

Siemens Hearing Instruments has offered a new ‘one stop shop’ approach to workflow, to support increasing pressures on audiology services. The entire hearing health continuum from appointment booking, testing and instrument fitting seamlessly has been integrated together by Siemens to speed up processes and expand service quality.

The company has a single approach to its audiology workflow to offer quality service and is prepared for anticipated rises in patient levels in the future.

The Siemens Hearing Instruments workflow range includes the hearcheck screener foraccurate hearing screening, practice navigator to manage appointment bookings, waiting lists and patient records, Connexx 6.2 audiology fitting software, Unity 2 fitting system for the testing and programming of hearing instruments, iScan for ear mould impressions and automated ordering, said the company.

Dawn Bramham, head of audiology and service manager of ENT at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “All aspects of our service run seamlessly due to our single approach to audiology. With routine tasks such as booking and testing taken care of, audiologists have more time to spend with the patient on quality matters such as talking through fittings and answering concerns. This results in more relaxed patients that understand more about their hearing health.

Darren Ransley, marketing manager at Siemens Hearing Instruments, said: “Siemens is about far more than just hearing instruments as our audiology workflow solutions demonstrate. These are proven in NHS and retail environments and have been developed over the years to automate processes and enhance the standard of hearing health delivered to patients.”
