Rochester General Health System has acquired Carestream Health's Cardiology PACS to integrate in its radiology PACS and its EMR.

The integrated product, CARESTREAM Vue for Cardiology, offers review of echocardiography, cardiac cath and nuclear cardiology exams from any on-site or remote workstation or on Web-enabled devices such as the iPad.

Rochester General Health System cardiac services vice president Amy Craib said the hospital selected Carestream’s Cardiology PACS because it offers excellent functionality.

"Having an integrated solution will provide our clinicians with faster, easier access to patient information, which will allow us to provide the highest quality care to our patients," Craib added.

In addition, the hospital is also planning to deploy Carestream’s existing Vue Archive which provides healthcare facilities to create a single point access for imaging exams, lab and pathology results, and other forms of patient data.
