Earlier this year, the company has introduced Astral ventilators in the European and selected Asia-Pacific markets.
The Astral 100 features single valve circuit system with one integrated QuickConnect tube and leak circuit options, as well as easy-to-read touchscreen display with real-time pressure and flow data for a comprehensive picture of a patient’s condition.
The Astral 150 features double-circuit system, which measures patient’s exhaled breath in real time. It also monitors the percentage of enriched oxygen used by a patient.
ResMed respiratory care strategic business unit president Geoff Neilson said the new Astral platform reflects firm’s longstanding history of patient-centric design and innovation.
"Astral has been well-received in Europe and Asia-Pacific, and we’re looking forward to U.S. patients enjoying more freedom and mobility, with an easier transition from hospital to home," Neilson added.
