Presbia has received registration approval for its Flexivue Microlens to treat presbyopia in Brazil.
The Microlens aids patients in eliminating their dependence on reading glasses or contact lenses for seeing near objects.
Using Flexivue Microlens solution, a 3mm lens, approximately 15 microns in edge thickness is implanted in the corneal stroma of the patient’s non-dominant eye.
The lens is placed in a pocket created in the cornea by a femtosecond laser using the company’s proprietary insertion tool.
The company has also signed an agreement with Mediphacos for the distribution of its Flexivue in Brazil.
