The new high-definition (HD) imaging platform, which is designed for ENT diagnosis, is available in the European, Middle Eastern & African (EMEA) markets.

The system features VNL-J10 Scopes that will aid in endoscopy ENT examinations, as well as HD video processor equipped with i-scan imaging technology.

It can be used in a range of ENT applications and provides fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and functional video stroboscopy examinations.

The system’s HD chip technology and an advanced design of the distal tip allow enhanced light distribution. It also offers better therapeutic options through the endoscope’s working channel.

The system uses a single-use suction control valve design and is compatible with Sterrad sterilisation system.

Pentax Medical EMEA president Rainer Burkard said: "This is one of a series of key product launches for us in 2016.

"We have led the way in ENT endoscopy for some time and this new system represents another significant step forward offering improved levels of patient comfort and enhanced detection capability."

Last month, Pentax Medical launched a new Optivista EPK-i7010 video processor in the European, Middle Eastern & African (EMEA) markets.

Featuring digital and optical enhancements, the Optivista EPK-i7010 offers detailed information for more precise in vivo diagnosis through improved vessel and mucosal pattern characterization.
