Opsens Inc. (Opsens), a developer, manufacturer and supplier of a wide range of fiber optic sensors, has received a $498,500 grant from the National Research Council Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), to develop new medical device. NRC-IRAP will provide technical advice to Opsens in developing medical device.

Opsens has already filed a patent application related to the product’s concept, being developed under ISO 13485 quality management system to obtain regulatory approval.

Opsens is always on the look out for new products and new markets to diversify its sources of revenues and to create value for its shareholders, said Claude Belleville, vice-president research and development. We believe that this innovative product will be an important breakthrough in medical devices.
