Noveko, a subsidiary of Noveko International, has received N95 certification from the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for its RD5-V respirator.

The certification for the Noveko RD5-V respirator adds to the FFP2 classification the company previously obtained for its RD2 antimicrobial respirator allowing its marketing in European Union countries.

Noveko International, with its subsidiaries, develops and manufactures derivative products from its patented antimicrobial filtration technologies, mainly air filters, surgical masks and respirators.

It also develops, manufactures other products with antibacterial properties such as hand sanitizers – and the development, manufacturing and marketing of medical equipment, primarily portable real-time ultrasound scanners for use in human and veterinary medicine.

Noveko president and COO Alain Bolduc said this certification confirms that they meet the NIOSH’s particle filtration criteria as well as its design and manufacturing requirements in regard to quality assurance.

"We believe this approval will facilitate the marketing of all our antimicrobial masks and respirators, notably in Canada, even though it has been obtained for a "vanilla" respirator model without antimicrobial agents," Bolduc said.
