Novation, a health care supply contracting company, has added St Jude Medical Cardiac Rhythm Management products to its portfolio.

Under the terms of the agreement, Novation will make St Jude Medical’s pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICD), heart failure devices (CRT-D), leads and patient home monitoring systems available to the members of VHA, the University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC) and Provista.

St Jude Medical Group president Mike Rousseau said they are pleased to partner with Novation and their member hospitals to provide additional access to the company’s life sustaining technologies.

"The new agreement has the potential to both increase the use of our arrhythmia management therapies and help to create efficiencies in the supply chain," Rousseau said.

Novation Sourcing Operations senior vice president Pete Allen said they are looking forward to St Jude Medical’s pipeline of new technologies, expect to be available in the US, such as ShockGuard for reduction of inappropriate therapies, quadripolar CRT-D systems, and technologies focused on hemodynamic monitoring for heart failure patient management.
