Nexcore Technologies of Waldwick, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of medical devices, has acquired the Meditron line of gastroenterology endoscopy products from CooperSurgical of Trumbull.
With the acquisition, Meditron line has become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nexcore Technologies.
Nexcore Technologies president and CEO Milton Frank said the acquisition is an important component of company’s growth in gastroenterology endoscopy products, and also said that the Meditron product line is known throughout the medical community for quality, reliability and competitive pricing.
CooperSurgical senior vice president and chief medical officer Robert Auerbach said that the divestiture of a non-strategic asset will serve to consolidate their position in women’s health while allowing Nexcore to use their resources in gastroenterology to expand this important technology.
