MedPro Safety Products, a developer of blood collection systems, has launched passive hypodermic safety syringe.
The syringe incorporates a proprietary safety shield that can be automatically released during the administration of medicine.
The passive safety mechanism is integrated into the syringe and is activated through the normal process of medication delivery.
The shield is automatically deployed over the contaminated needle and reduces the chances of a needlestick injury.
The shield prevents recapping, removal and reuse of the syringe with the engagements of its auto-disable feature and reduces the chance of blood or drug splatter.
