Medicrea announced the marketing clearance for PASS LP Iliac Fixation from US FDA. This device adds to the recently introduced PASS LP range which is a ultra Low Profile Polyaxial Spine System.

This system consists of sacral/iliac screws, sacral plates, pedicle screws, rods/rod-plates, hooks/claws which are polyaxial anchorages and UNIQUE variety connectors that provides vertebral alignment and vertebral axial rotation correction.

It is advantageous in the treatment of long or complex deformities or curvatures. Reasonably sufficient reduction is possible by precise distribution of forces applied to both rods simultaneously restraining more load and stress on anchorage points. The rods are bent in the sagittal plane to the desired curve in prior. By alternartely tightening all the nuts on both rods alternartely tightening all the nuts on both rods advancing reduction of the deformity is possible, thereby significant reduction in the stress applied on the screws and hooks compared to other fixation systems on the market

This system is also intended for degenerative disc disease (ddd), spondylolisthesis, trauma (i.e., fracture or dislocation), spinal stenosis, tumor, pseudoarthrosis and failed previous fusion.

“The launch of the PASS LP Iliac Fixation, developed in collaboration with leading US Surgeons, will increase significantly PASS LP sales in coming months as it allows MEDICREA to complete its product line for deformity treatment – an over 400$ million segment out of the 6,5$ billion total US market for spinal implants, says Denys Sournac, President and CEO of MEDICREA.
