Masimo, a provider of non-invasive monitoring technologies, has entered into a multi-year supplier agreement with Fortis Healthcare.

The agreement allows all Fortis’ hospitals to gain access to Masimo’s complete range of pulse oximetry and non-invasive patient monitoring solutions.

As part of the agreement, Fortis Healthcare’s Escorts Heart Institute will install 100 Masimo Radical-7s in order to standardize its operating rooms and critical care patient rooms.

The Radical-7, featuring Masimo SET pulse oximetry, provides non-invasive measurement of acoustic respiration rate, methemoglobin, carboxyhemoglobin, pleth variability index, oxygen saturation, perfusion index, pulse rate, total arterial oxygen content and total hemoglobin.

Fortis Escorts Heart Institute anesthesia and critical care medicine head Anil Karlekar said following the installation of the Radical-7 in the operating rooms, the monitors have trended and tracked oxygen saturation, fluid volume changes and hemoglobin levels reliably, enabling the potential to make better clinical decisions to improve patient outcomes.

Fortis Healthcare zonal director Raajiv Singhal said all Fortis-affiliated hospitals can benefit from the noninvasive capabilities of Masimo SET Measure-Through Motion and Low Perfusion pulse oximetry, Masimo rainbow SET Pulse CO-Oximetry, Masimo SafetyNet and SEDLine brain function monitoring solutions at low price.

Fortis hospitals now can also purchase Masimo standalone (Radical-7, Rad-8, Rad-8) and portable (Rad-5, Rad-57, Pronto, Pronto-7) rainbow Pulse CO-Oximeters on contract, along with ReSposable, adhesive, and reusable sensors for all categories of patients, from neonatal and infant/pediatric to adult.
