M Modal and RadNet have entered into a partnership to integrate M Modal's Speech Understanding technology into RadNet's radiology Information technology solutions.

The integration will provide advanced speech and documentation capabilities to RadNet‘s proprietary diagnostic software solutions used at the company’s 192 owned and operated outpatient imaging centers across the US.

M Modal said its Speech Understanding technology gives radiologists high-productivity speech recognition that streamlines the diagnostic report production process and produces higher quality documentation for referring physicians.

M Modal’s technology will be integrated with RadNet’s workflow solutions, providing enhancements to diagnostic reporting capabilities.

RadNet chief information officer Ranjan Jayanathan said RadNet recently entered the radiology IT market by acquiring eRAD for its PACS and establishing an experienced software development team to create workflow solutions.

"To enhance our technology offerings, we sought a flexible and proven speech recognition engine that could be integrated into our reporting software. M Modal’s platform provides us a solution that meets all of our requirements," Jayanathan said.

M Modal CEO Michael Finke said they are excited to partner with RadNet, the leading national owner and operator of outpatient imaging centers.

"This agreement supports RadNet’s strategy to deploy advanced technologies within its operations, and affords M Modal the opportunity to deliver our solutions into nearly 200 high volume imaging centers," Finke said.
