Lumedx, a provider of vendor-neutral, interoperable cardiovascular imaging and information systems (CVIS), has introduced a new integration framework designed to help hospitals achieve meaningful use of their electronic health records (EHR).

The Enabling the EHR Integration Suite makes it possible to capture detailed specialty data and images from all areas of the cardiovascular service line and beyond and export them to enterprise-level electronic health record systems (EHRs).

By connecting cardiovascular information systems (CVIS) to enterprise-wide systems, the Enabling the EHR Integration Suite eliminates information gaps, delivers a radically streamlined workflow and supports quality-improvement initiatives.

The Enabling the EHR Integration Suite is a comprehensive portfolio of integration tools that transforms clinical and operational workflows like imports ADT, Orders and HIS patient data as well as procedure results information, including external, non-cardiovascular data – oncology, radiology and more, captures detailed cardiovascular clinical information – including dictated reports and images.

Th other workflows include integrating laboratory, medications, history and other information with the results report, exports results reports to the EHR/EMR, enables analytics for outcomes improvement.

Lumedx Marketing director Randy Lasnick said improved care coordination, efficiency, care quality and patient safety are all requirements for meaningful use.

"The Enabling the EHR Integration Suite also helps reduce IT costs by allowing hospitals to minimize the number of interfaces between their EHR and their devices." Lasnick said.
