Life Technologies has entered into an agreement to distribute and commercialize Quidel's molecular diagnostic assays in the Europe.
Life Technologies will distribute Quidel’s human metapneumovirus (hMPV) kits and Molecular Influenza A+B Real-Time RT-PCR Assay to European markets from beginning of the October.
The kits offer both performance benefits and workflow benefits by allowing for refrigerated storage rather than freezer storage, one-step reagent setup, and fast qPCR cycling resulting in answers 75 minutes after sample preparation.
Both Quidel’s kits are for use with Life’s 7500 family PCR Instruments, which are installed at clinical diagnostic labs across Europe.
Life Technologies and Quidel expects to launch additional infectious disease kits to the European market in 2011.
