Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp) has extended additional two years of its agreement with UnitedHealthcare Insurance.
The agreement allows LabCorp to serve as the national laboratory for UnitedHealthcare and Oxford Health Plans and the laboratory provider for the HMO benefit plans of PacifiCare of Colorado, PacifiCare of Arizona, Neighborhood Health Partnership in Florida, and Mid Atlantic Medical Services (MAMSI) in Maryland and Virginia.
LabCorp commercializes new diagnostic technologies and embrace genomic testing and provides test menu ranging from routine blood analyses to reproductive genetics to DNA sequencing.
LabCorp chairman and CEO David King said through their partnership, they have delivered laboratory services to UnitedHealthcare’s customers and lowered their laboratory spend.
"This extension is a mutual recognition of the benefits that our strategic partnership has brought to both companies, and demonstrates our renewed commitment to work together to provide the highest quality care at the most reasonable cost," King said.
