San Diego based medical devices company KFx Medical has filed a patent infringement case against Arthrex in the United States District Court.

The case was filed against Arthrex for continuing to infringe a KFx Medical’s patent (United States Patent No. 7,585,311) for method of knotless double row rotator cuff repair.

The methods of Arthroscopic knotless double row repair techniques are used to restore a torn rotator cuff to its anatomic position and encourage healing.

An anonymous party filed a request that the US Patent Office (USPTO) to re-examine the KFx Medical patent.

The USPTO rejected all arguments made by the anonymous party and upheld the KFx Medical patent.
