The US House of Representatives has released a draft version of new health reform legislation on June 19, 2009. This bill proposes to increase from 50% to 75% the equipment utilization factor used to calculate technical component payments under the Medicare system. The House bill also proposes to increase the discount from 25% to 50% for single-session imaging of contiguous body parts on the premise that centers that conduct imaging this way are more efficient.

The House bill on health reform is to provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes.
