Home Diagnostics and Nipro Diabetes Systems are set to merge to become Nipro Diagnostics. Both companies are wholly-owned by Nipro Corporation. The name change to Nipro Diagnostics, is effective immediately for Home Diagnostics.

The merger of Home Diagnostics and Nipro Diabetes is said to result in a comprehensive diabetes monitoring and insulin management product portfolio, which few companies offer by the end of the year.

The portfolio ensures that patients and their healthcare professionals have easy access to diabetes monitoring and management tools to improve quality of life.

Joseph Capper, president of Home Diagnostics, said: “Our mission at Home Diagnostics has always been to make high-performance blood glucose monitoring technology more affordable to people with diabetes. Merging with Nipro Diabetes Systems helps us extend this mission to the insulin pump category.”

Florida-based Home Diagnostics, manufactures and markets the True brand of blood glucose monitoring systems. Home Diagnostics is the co-brand supplier of blood glucose monitoring systems for national retail pharmacies, pharmacy wholesalers, medical products distributors and mail-order suppliers.

Nipro Diabetes Systems, located in Miramar, Florida, is the manufacturer and marketer of the Amigo Insulin Pump.
