Hibernation Therapeutics (HT) has entered into a partnership to administer its patented Adenocaine Hiberplegia solution using B Braun Medical's Perfusor Space syringe pump to aid in the arrest and protection of the heart during open heart surgery.
University of Kansas Hospital MD Gregory Muehlebach said in their initial clinical cases, they have observed improved cardioprotection in some very difficult cases.
"we are collecting additional data to better understand the clinical benefit of the Adenocaine cardioplegia," Muehlebach said.
HT CEO David Field said by incorporating the BBraun Perfusor Space pump with its Adenocaine drug library, clinicians can easily integrate the delivery of Adenocaine into any existing cardioplegia delivery system and at any blood:cardioplegia ratio the perfusionist prefers.
