Generex Biotechnology has signed a long-term marketing and distribution agreement with Mexico-based Merck for its over-the-counter (OTC) Glucose RapidSpray brand formulated glucose spray products, under the brand name Diabion GlucoShot.
Glucose RapidSpray, a proprietary alternative for people who require or want additional glucose, delivers a fat-free, low-calorie glucose formulation that was developed using the Generex’s proprietary buccal drug delivery technologies and delivers glucose directly into the mouth where it is absorbed.
Generex Global Licensing and Business Development senior executive advisor Bill Abajian said that they were pleased to enter the Mexican marketplace through the marketing agreement with Merck in Mexico.
“We expect that with the marketing expertise that Merck Serono provides penetration within the Mexican marketplace will open up additional markets for the company’s product in Latin and South America as well as the other markets,” Abajian said.
Merck medical director in Mexico Arturro Torres Gutierrez Rubio said that they welcome Generex, to contribute to the growth of their diabetes franchise with a technology for their Consumer Health Division with a comprehensive product offering.
