GE Healthcare has received the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval for its Optima XR220amx, Optima XR200amx and Brivo XR285amx mobile x-ray systems, which are used to address the specialized radiographic needs of patients.

The mobile x-ray systems feature intuitive touch screens, start-up capability, storage capacity and the high image quality that can aid in diagnoses in clinical settings.

Optima XR220amx can be integrated with GE’s FlashPad digital wireless detector.

FlashPad operates on a dedicated frequency spectrum using ultra-wideband technology, thereby avoiding the congestion and competition found on many busy hospital wi-fi networks.

GE Healthcare X-ray business vice president and general manager Anne LeGrand said these next generation systems are designed to improve quality of care by bringing x-ray directly to the patient in the emergency room, intensive care unit and other clinical settings.
