US-based Freedom Innovations has introduced its Plié 3 Microprocessor Controlled (MPC) Knee system.

The new system has been developed for amputees seeking a knee, and it holds the ability to adjust to walking, running, uneven terrain and occasional water exposure.

Freedom Innovations domestic sales and global marketing executive vice president Rob Cripe said the Plié 3 MPC knee makes it even easier for prosthetists to help patients expand their capabilities, with a more streamlined and intuitive set-up.

"With the most responsive stumble and fall protection, users can instinctively move at their own pace in any direction — even if it’s taking small short steps or pivoting in confined spaces," Cripe added.

Cripe noted that the rapid response technology of Plié 3’s provides natural transition from swing to stance.

The company develops and markets lower extremity prosthetic devices for the people with physical challenges.
