InControl Medical has launched InTone and Apex, two new proprietary, patented women’s health devices for the treatment of female urinary incontinence in Ireland.

InTone uses a scientifically-derived muscle stimulation algorithm, active resistance and biofeedback to dramatically increase muscle strength in the pelvic floor, providing effective treatment for stress, urge and mixed female urinary incontinence.

Apex utilizes a specific muscle stimulation algorithm in conjunction with a patented, customizable probe to strengthen the muscles of the pelvic floor in order to avoid leakage commonly associated with coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercising.

In addition to being an uncomfortable, personally sensitive condition, incontinence can be related to other serious health concerns, from pelvic pain to sexual dysfunction. Until now the only solution was expensive diapers or pads, taking medication or undergoing painful surgery.

InControl Medical founder and CEO Herschel Peddicord said his mother suffered with incontinence and couldn’t even sleep through the night, so he developed these unique medical devices to help her.

"Now InTone and Apex are helping millions of women in the U.S., and we’re thrilled to be able to help women in Ireland," Peddicord added.

"There is significant interest in our devices internationally, and we will ship to additional countries throughout Q1 of 2014."
