EnviroLogix, a developer and manufacturer of immunoassay test kits, has appointed Breck Parker as a new vice president (VP) for molecular diagnostic product development.

Most recently, Dr Parker was the strategic development leader of consumables division at GE Healthcare-Life Sciences.

Prior to GE, Dr Parker was the development manager for Whatman, where he established a new molecular biology and forensics DNA technology group and lead the invention and development of the hugely successful EasiCollect buccal sample collection device widely used by the FBI, state crime labs and many foreign forensics agencies.

Bruce Ferguson, president of EnviroLogix, said: “The company was very fortunate to find a person with Breck’s professional accomplishments living in Maine and prepared to make a career change from a very large company with a global reputation to a small one whose reputation is growing in life science circles.

“Breck has already contributed to the growth and organisation of our nucleic acid diagnostic group, and is extremely excited about the opportunity that our exclusive isothermal amplification license represents for bringing new products to market.”
