Digi International has launched its new iDigi Telehealth Application kit to create cloud-connected medical devices.

The iDigi kit features a freescale semiconductor home health hub (HHH) reference circuit board which will connect blood glucometers, blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters with wire or wirelessly.

It also features a iDigi Device Cloud which allows medical devices to securely integrate patient data into new, existing and custom healthcare applications.

The iDigi Device Cloud enables centralized control of medical device configurations, settings, firmware updates and device groups.

By using iDigi’s device network management software – iDigi Manager Pro- healthcare institutions can install cloud-connected medical devices in a secure and cost-effective manner.

Digi International global sales and marketing senior vice president Larry Kraft said cloud-connected devices facilitate patients get out of the hospital faster by allowing doctors to monitor patient status remotely.

"Through the iDigi Device Cloud, doctor’s can easily access and analyze patient data, set up alarms and alerts and store information," Kraft said.
