Leveraging DICOMweb and FHIR, the Workflow Unifier allows the inclusion of visible light image capture devices in DMWL workflows, which have historically been off-limits for non-traditional imaging equipment.

"Our company has a history of nimble development and enhancements," said Dmitriy Tochilnik, Chief Technical Officer of Dicom Systems. "Back in 2014, Dicom Systems was one of the first enterprise imaging pioneers to adopt and release a fully DICOMweb-compliant platform: the Enterprise Imaging Workflow Unifier.

“In 2015, we further enhanced the Unifier platform with full FHIR capabilities. In 2016, we brought to the market the first completely vendor-neutral, Enterprise-class DICOM Modality Worklist leveraging industry standards DICOMweb and FHIR at its core, and best-of-breed DICOM and HL7 workflow engine."

Continuing its legacy of innovation, Dicom Systems is demonstrating dermatology and wound-care applications of DMWL.

Utilizing DICOMweb STOW-RS, QIDO-RS and WADO-RS, mobile devices and other secondary capture devices become DMWL nodes like any other imaging modality.

A mobile device such as an iPhone or iPad can query the patient list and contribute content to the imaging archive.

On the backend, the Dicom Systems Workflow Unifier receives the content, transforms the images into DICOM objects and makes them available for viewing in any Enterprise viewer for physicians to review.

"E-DMWL enables mass-customization and versatility of modality workflows for thousands of imaging modalities, including visible light imaging and secondary capture workflows across small and large imaging enterprises, no matter how many facilities need to be connected," said Florent Saint-Clair, Executive Vice President at Dicom Systems.

"We did a soft launch of the next generation E-DMWL a couple of months ago and closed five new deals during that time. Our DICOM Modality Worklist clients range from smaller hospitals to large hospital chains with around 1,000 modalities. We are certain that now all of our customers will appreciate the new capabilities that will directly impact their diagnostic team's productivity and accuracy."

Dicom Systems is a Health IT company that offers a broad range of Enterprise Imaging Solutions and Teleradiology Workflow enablers, ranging from simple smart routing, SSL-based DICOM and HL7 integration tools, all the way to enterprise-class vendor neutral archiving.
