Covidien, a provider of medical solutions, has introduced AccuMesh positioning system.

The AccuMesh system is an endomechanical device which is designed to facilitate insertion, deployment and placement of Parietex optimized composite (PCOx) mesh during minimally invasive ventral hernia repair procedures.

PCOx mesh promotes, minimizes visceral attachments, rapid abdominal wall integration and facilitates strong tack fixation.

The AccuMesh system featuring an expandable frame and precise articulation control also improves faster operative time compared to traditional laparoscopic ventral hernia repair methods.

Covidien surgical solutions vice president and chief technology officer Paul Hermes said the AccuMesh positioning system adds to the company’s existing product portfolio including ProGrip self-gripping mesh and Parietex Composite (PCO) mesh.
