ConvaTec, a developer and manufacturer of medical technologies, has completed the acquisition of AbViser Medical.
As part of the acquisition, ConvaTec has added AbViser’s intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) monitoring system to its products portfolio.
The AbViser IAP system is a sterile non-invasive disposable monitoring device which facilitates clinicians to measure and monitor IAP in patients at risk for abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) or intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH)
The AbViser IAP monitoring system provides data in approximately 30 seconds which allows clinicians to trend the pressures and intervene in a timely fashion, preventing the end stage organ dysfunction seen with abdominal compartment syndrome.
ConvaTec said monitoring patients facilitates clinicians to intervene in a manner which may improve patient outcomes.
