Building on the open source DICOM ImageServer, the Team Edition includes a concurrent workstation licensing model, unlimited web-based image viewing, roaming user profiles, JPEG2000 compression support, and centralized audit logs.

In addition, the Team Edition workstation includes all of the same features as the Clinical Edition, including Media Writing, DICOM Print, and PET/CT Fusion.

ClearCanvas CEO Norman Young said his vision for ClearCanvas has always been to offer integrated workflow solutions to the medical imaging community – and not just image viewing applications.

"With features like roaming user profiles and web-based access to images, the Team Edition represents the next step in that direction," Young said.

ClearCanvas expects a commercial release of their integrated RIS/PACS in early 2012.

Additional versions of both the Workstation and the PACS are already planned for 2011.
