Cardium Therapeutics, a developer of new bio-medical product, is featuring its syringe-based wound care product, Excellagen, being held at the 2012 Spring Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) in Atlanta, Georgia, US, from 19 - 22 April 2012.

The 2012 Spring SAWC provides the company an opportunity to exhibit its Excellagen to more than 2,000 attendees including physicians, podiatrists, nurses, therapists and researchers.

Excellagen is a Type I fibrillar collagen-based topical gel which is designed for the management of diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers and other dermal wounds.

Excellagen is topically applied through easy-to-control, pre-filled single use syringes.

Cardium said as per the recommendations, Excellagen should be applied following surgical debridement in the presence of blood cells and platelets, which are involved with the release of endogenous growth factors.
