Cardiac Science, a subsidiary of Opto Circuits, has introduced a new version of automated external defibrillator (AED), Powerheart G5, in Europe.

The Powerheart G5 is designed to help facilitate both professional rescuers and first-time users to provide effective, life-saving therapy to aid a person who has suffered sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Opto Circuits chairman and managing director Vinod Ramnani said, "The Powerheart G5’s combination of life-saving features and intuitive controls will appeal to current and new customers in work places, public spaces and emergency services."

Cardiac Science develops electrocardiograph devices, cardiac stress treadmill and systems, PC-based diagnostic workstations, Holter monitoring systems, hospital defibrillators, vital signs monitors, cardiac rehabilitation telemetry systems, and cardiology data management systems.
