The Realize Band procedure involves restricting the flow of food into the stomach.
The tightness of the stomach band is controlled via a tube and injection port, via which the surgeon can inject a surgical grade saline solution that inflates or deflates the band.
In Realize Band, unlike in the Lap Band, the injection port beneath the skin is smaller and less visible from the outside.
The Realize Band comes with an online weight loss program, which includes a personal plan, a nutritional plan, a fitness plan and a progress tracker.
The institute said adhering to a nutritional, low carb, low cholesterol and low sugar diet is an integral aspect of a successful surgery.
