Finnish biotechnology company Biohit has developed a new electronic pipette under the commercial name eLINE 0.1 – 5 µl for dispensing small volumes of liquid.
The pipette, which is suitable for handling 0.1 – 5 micro litres of liquid, is targeted for molecular biology laboratories.
Biohit claims the patented technology of the pipette ensures that the tip is completely emptied, resulting in liquid handling contamination free.
The pipette will be available globally as of 27 June 2011.
Biohit has two business segments Liquid Handling and Diagnostics.
Liquid Handling products include electronic and mechanical pipettes, disposable tips as well as pipette maintenance and calibration services.
The Diagnostics business comprises products and analysis systems for the early diagnosis and prevention of gastrointestinal diseases, such as the blood-sample based GastroPanel examination for the diagnosis of stomach illnesses and associated risks, and Acetium capsules, which bind carcinogenic acetaldehyde in the stomach.
