Ashland Performance Materials, a unit of Ashland, has launched Aroset AGX-L pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) for the medical applications in Europe.
The Aroset AGX-L adhesive is a pure acrylic adhesive in solution that dries to a clear, tacky film and features adhesion to fabrics.
Ashland Performance Material sales director Stuart May said the toluene-free adhesive combines a polymer and cross-linking profile that provides improved anchorage to fabrics and foams, which is a key requirement for bandages or other skin-applied tapes and medical devices.
In addition to Aroset PSAs, Ashland has the expertise to customize waterborne heat-seal and cohesive formulas for the medical packaging market for items such as surgical gloves, medical instruments and bandages
