AliveCor has announced, at the NHS Health Care and Innovation Expo, the launch of AliveInsights ECG analysis service for AliveCor heart monitor users in the UK and Ireland.

For the first time users in the UK and Ireland can receive expert reviews of their ECGs via the free AliveECG app. Patients can now share their medical grade ECG recordings with UK-based cardiac physiologists for review. Recordings are analysed within 24 hours, providing users with a more complete picture of their heart health at any time.

AliveInsights is changing the way patients and providers understand, collaborate and monitor cardiac health. For the first time users can have a more holistic picture of their own cardiac health, and fully participate in making decisions that may help manage their overall health. Doctors can now efficiently track and manage their patients ECGs directly through eu.AliveCor.com.

This innovative service is now available for Android users in the UK and Ireland through the use a new pocket-sized Universal AliveCor Heart Monitor that attaches discretely on the back of most Android and iOS mobile devices.

Unlike previous models that included the Heart Monitor embedded in a case for iPhone 4/4S or iPhone 5/5S, this new model does not include a case, enabling its use on multiple models of mobile devices and tablets, including Android devices.

AliveCor president and CEO Euan Thomson noted the company’s ECG analysis service provides a cost effective solution that will empower patients to take control of their heart health any time, anywhere.

"By providing patients expert analysis of their heart health it is our hope that this data, along with the care provided by their doctor, can subsequently guide new behaviours that reduce the risk of developing heart conditions and prevent potential cardiac complications," Thomson added.

The AliveCor Heart Monitor received CE mark conformity in December 2012 and is the only mobile ECG recorder that supports both iOS and Android mobile devices. It records, displays, stores, and transfers single-channel ECG rhythms wirelessly, using the free AliveECG app. With secure storage in EU data-law compliant cloud, users can access their data confidentially anytime, anywhere, and can grant access to their doctor.
