Abbott has introduced FreeStyle InsuLinx Blood Glucose Monitoring System in the UK.
The new FreeStyle InsuLinx System comes with a mealtime (bolus) insulin calculator for calculating suggested insulin doses.
The bolus calculator feature is designed to help patients administer an accurately calculated suggested dose of insulin to help maintain appropriate blood glucose levels.
The new system also offers other features such as a touch screen interface, automated logbook, personalization preferences and USB connectivity for plug-and-play reports via the new FreeStyle Auto-Assist data management software.
It is compatible with the FreeStyle Lite blood glucose test strips with ZipWik tabs.
FreeStyle InsuLinx is CE marked in the European Union, and will initially be marketed in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, along with the UK.
It is currently not available for sale in the US.
