3M Drug Delivery Systems has launched Microchannel Skin System to pre-treat patients' skin prior to dermatological applications and procedures.
The system comprises of a snap-on handle and a sterile single-patient use microneedle patch with hundreds of microneedles to create microchannels in the outermost layer of the skin with minimal discomfort for patients.
The patch is disposed onto the skin by cleaning the area to be treated, snapping the handle onto a patch, and gently pressing into the skin in a vertical stamping motion.
The system is provided in three convenient configurations an Office pack (25 patches, 5 handles), a Patient pack (5 patches, 1 handle) and a Handle pack (5 handles).
The Microchannel Skin System microneedle technology is based on technology platforms of microreplication and micromolding.
The system will be distributed exclusively through Henry Schein.
