Mindray Medical International has launched its new DP-50 portable ultrasound system in the US.

The DP-50 system is used for various clinical applications including peripheral vascular exams, cardiac (pediatric), musculo-skeletal, neonatal/adult cephalic, small organ, pediatric, abdominal and fetal.

The system also provides advanced imaging features including tissue specific imaging, tissue harmonic, iClear speckle reduction, iBeam spatial compounding and dynamic beam formation.

Several of the features offered on the DP-50 system are found on premium systems.

iZoom allows to view images from a longer distance by increasing the size of the clinical image display area on the screen, iStation has an on-board imaging archive for more than 100,000 still images and iTouch provides a single button image optimization.

Mindray North America Sales and Marketing vice president Michael Thompson said with its ergonomic and lightweight form, the DP-50 is designed for use in any location.

"The DP-50 system’s architecture is designed to accommodate future upgrades as imaging technology advances, which will provide economic value for any clinical practice," Thompson said.
