Dexcom has unveiled plans to develop a new manufacturing facility in Greater Phoenix of Arizona, US.

The new 180,000ft² facility is being constructed to meet the increasing demand for continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology.
Dexcom’s new manufacturing facility is expected to create around 500 jobs over the next several years.

The company plans to begin the operations at the new facility in the second quarter of 2017.

Dexcom president and CEO Kevin Sayer said: "We are thrilled to locate our new state of the art manufacturing facility in the greater Phoenix area where the healthcare industry is seeing accelerated growth.

"We chose Mesa due to the available, talented workforce, in addition to the proximity to our headquarters in San Diego and our key suppliers.

"Given our company’s growth, and the growing demand for CGM technology, we felt that a significant expansion of our manufacturing capability in this location was a good strategic fit."

Based in San Diego of California, Dexcom produces CGM products and tools for adult and pediatric patients.

The company’s G5 mobile CGM system allows diabetes patients to view the glucose information on their iOS-enabled devices for real-time diabetes management.
