Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. (Johnson & Johnson Vision Care) has filed a lawsuit against CIBA Vision Corporation (CIBA Vision) on July 31, 2009 in US District Court, Middle District of Florida (Jacksonville), Bloomberg reported. The lawsuit alleges CIBA Vision's silicone hydrogel contact lenses infringe Air Optix Aqua and Focus Night & Day lenses of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc.'s patents.
Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is seeking cash compensation and a court order that would prevent further use of its patented inventions for a type of silicon hydrogel contact lens that traps less debris like make-up or dust and ways of making lenses.
CIBA Vision is a unit of Novartis AG.
