HemCon Medical Technologies, Inc. (HemCon) has added hemostatic HemCon Patch and HemCon Bandage to the Hemostasis Products category with Premier Purchasing Partners L.P., a Premier Inc purchasing unit. This agreement is effective from August 1, 2009 to Oct 1, 2011 which makes HemCon dressings available at pre-negotiated terms to all 2,100 Premier hospital members through HemCon’s exclusive distribution partner, Cardinal Health.
Through this new contract, Premier members will now have access to special pricing for HemCon dressings, which are intended to improve patient care following diagnostic and interventional vascular access procedures. The dressings offer safe and fast hemostasis with an effective antibacterial barrier against a wide spectrum of microorganisms including MRSA, VRE and Acinetobacter baumannii that may help to reduce the risk of hospital acquired infections.

The hemostatic HemCon Patch, designed for vascular closure following diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, was only such device to be selected for the Premier’s inaugural Innovation Celebration.
