Medtronic, Inc announced that it will be completing the study of Pacing Lead (Model 4296 LV Lead) by February 2010.

Pacing Lead (Model 4296 LV Lead) is a left ventricular pacing lead. It is intended to pace the left bottom chamber of the heart during cardiac resynchronization therapy to potentially improve heart failure symptoms.

This study is designed to show that a new lead, which paces the left bottom chamber (left ventricle) of the heart, is safe. Using a lead on the left side of the heart has been shown to potentially improve heart failure symptoms. The shape and size of this new lead may make it a good choice for patients or physicians. This 100 patient study is currently recruiting participants. The official title of the trial is “Model 4296 Left Ventricular Lead Study”.
