Most recently, Robins was general manager, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare Canada, and a vice president of the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Group, with responsibility for a number of well-known health and beauty brands such as Listerine, Reach, Band-Aid, Stayfree and Purell. Prior, he held marketing and category management leadership positions with Pfizer Inc., and product management positions with Warner Lambert Company’s consumer healthcare group. He began his career at Young & Rubicam, the global advertising agency. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bates College.

Before that role at Bausch & Lomb, Valenti served as vice president and general manager, surgical devices (US), for Covidien, where he led the US sales and marketing strategy for the $1 billion product portfolio from 2007 to 2008.

Prior, Valenti spent 12 years with Johnson & Johnson in a variety of US and international roles across consumer, pharmaceutical and device businesses. These included positions as vice president, global strategy, and vice president, US Marketing, both in Vision Care, and as the lead on the marketing/marketing services organization design for J&J’s acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. He has also held brand management roles with Procter & Gamble Co. He holds an MBA from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.

Valenti replaces Stuart Heap, who has chosen to step down from his current role with Bausch & Lomb for personal reasons effective June 30, 2009. Heap will remain an active strategic advisor to the company.

“Pete possesses a mix of deep leadership experience, healthcare and eye health expertise, and has already made significant contributions to helping grow the B&L business during his brief tenure. I’m excited about the future for Vision Care under his leadership,” said Gerald M. Ostrov, chairman and chief executive officer, Bausch & Lomb. “At the same time, we thank Stuart for his significant contributions to the company as he chooses to spend more time with his family.”
